Profile Summary

I am a passionate researcher, teacher, and communicator in the philosophy of emotion, affective sciences, and cognitive science. My interdisciplinary work is at the intersection of philosophy, neuroscience, and psychology. My main topics are desire, motivation, self-deception, musical emotions, emotions and science, and emotions about death. My areas of expertise go from the philosophy of mind, of psychology, and of neuroscience to ethics, aesthetics, cognitive science, and the history of philosophy. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Science and Society at Columbia University and at the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences of the University of Geneva. I was researcher at New York University, Columbia University, the University of Oxford, the University of Geneva, the Cognitive Science Center (University of Neuchâtel), the University of Fribourg, and the Swiss Polytechnical University of Lausanne (EPFL). I have a 15 years teaching experience at the preparatory, BA, MA, and graduate level. I am enthusiastic about sharing my analytic and interdisciplinary skills inside and outside of academia. My specialisation on emotion is a precious resource for teaching, research, consulting, advising, project management, communication, writing, etc. I am perfectly tri-lingual (English, French, and Italian), I have an extensive knowledge of German, Latin, and Ancient Greek, while my medium knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese are improving.
