Profile Summary

I am a PhD environmental health researcher with 10+ years of experience at the intersection of climate change and public health. My work spans epidemiologic research, health impact assessment (HIA), exposure assessment, and science-policy translation, with particular expertise in heat-health relationships, air pollution in urban environments, transportation-health, SDG indicator development (notably SDG 11.6.2), and the use of Earth observation data to support policy. I hold a PhD in Public Health (Global Health) from UC San Diego / San Diego State University and a Master's in Climate Science and Policy from Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego. My methodological toolkit includes case-crossover and time-series designs, scoping reviews and meta-analyses, machine learning for exposure modelling (e.g., satellite-to-ground pollution mapping), spatial analysis, and health impact assessment (including the use of tools such as AirQ+). I work primarily in R and GIS (Google Earth Engine, QGIS), and I am fluent in LaTeX and MS Word workflows. I have authored and co-authored peer-reviewed publications in journals including Environmental Research, Remote Sensing, GeoHealth, Environmental Science & Policy, and the Journal of Environmental Science and Health, and I have contributed to technical reports and policy outputs for the UN, national research organizations, as well as international/intergovernmental science-policy groups.
