Profile Summary

I am a biomedical engineer and research officer with over seven years of experience spanning multiphysics modelling, physiological simulation, and biomedical data analysis. My work focuses on developing robust computational and analytical tools to support healthcare research and medical device development, with an emphasis on interpretability and clinical relevance. I completed a PhD at Swansea University, where I developed an open-source computational framework for thermal medical device research, coupling electromagnetic and bioheat physics using high-order finite element methods. This involved formulating and implementing coupled multiphysics models in Python, building intuitive user interfaces for device design workflows, and supporting simulation development with laboratory experimentation and measurement. This work provided a strong foundation in scientific computing, numerical modelling, and end-to-end research workflows. Following my PhD, my work expanded into physiological modelling and biomedical signal analysis. As a research assistant and research officer, I have worked on cardiovascular modelling during pregnancy, wearable-sensor and Doppler ultrasound data processing, and clinical data integration. This has included developing MATLAB and Python models of physiological systems, implementing signal quality metrics and feature extraction pipelines, building automated image-segmentation tools, and designing structured SQL databases to support large, integrated clinical datasets and analysis workflows. I have also applied machine-learning classification methods to explore patterns and trends in biomedical signals. Across these projects, I work comfortably with Python, MATLAB, SQL, and Git-based collaborative workflows, and I am experienced in translating complex technical results into clear, clinically meaningful insights. I regularly collaborate with clinicians and interdisciplinary teams, shaping analyses around real experimental and healthcare constraints rather than purely theoretical models. I am particularly interested in projects involving biomedical modelling and simulation, physiological data analysis, medical device R&D, and the development of robust, well-structured computational pipelines.
