Profile Summary

I hold a Ph.D. in Food Safety Management Systems in the International Seafood Trade from the School of Industrial Fisheries, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kerala, India. I also possess dual postgraduate degrees in Food Biotechnology from Abertay University, Scotland, UK, and in Biotechnology from Bharathidasan University, Tamil Nadu, India. My doctoral research focused on improving food safety protocols and traceability in the global seafood trade, particularly in the context of Kerala’s export sector. I have also collaborated internationally on a research project titled “Immunomodulatory Activities of Capsella bursa-pastoris Herbal Tea” with the Scottish Crop Research Institute (SCRI), Dundee, and the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. Professionally, I have experience as an approved Technologist in the seafood export industry, specializing in food safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance. My teaching experience includes undergraduate and postgraduate courses in food microbiology, food biotechnology, food laws, international food trade, and quality assurance at CUSAT and Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kerala. My research interests include food safety systems, food microbiology, traceability mechanisms, international food trade regulations, and food innovation. I have participated in and presented at various national and international conferences and have published peer-reviewed articles as part of my academic research. Currently, I am actively involved in a food innovations, entrepreneurship, and training initiative at CUSAT, contributing to the development of future food safety professionals and entrepreneurs.
