Profile Summary

My most recent postdoctoral position was as a Biomarker Team Leader at the University of Oxford, in the Translational Neuroscience and Dementia Research Team. Here I was responsible for the day to day management of several projects, most of which were focused upon discovering, replicating and validating biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease. I have been involved in dementia research for over 10 years. I am proficient in a number of laboratory skills (incl. ELISA, Meso Scale Discovery, Luminex xMAP, SOMAscan, blood processing, PBMC Prep, LC-MS/MS) and data analysis techniques and softwares (incl. R, SPSS, SigmaPlot, Excel). I am used to working with big data and analysing data from large multi-cohort datasets. I have experience in project management, meeting co-ordination, medical writing and presentations. I have a fairly varied scientific background, having degrees in Psychological Medicine (PhD), Cognitive Brain Imaging (MSc) and Psychology (BSc). I am a quick learner and enjoy learning new areas of science. I am also a good problem solver and have good attention to detail.
