Profile Summary

I am a PhD Candidate in Chemistry at McGill University working in the laboratory of Dr. Lucas Caire da Silva, where my research focuses on peptide-based biomaterials, self-assembly, coacervates, and biomolecular phase separation. As the first graduate student to join the laboratory, I have helped establish research infrastructure, develop project directions, recruit trainees, and contribute to the growth of a new research program. My work combines experimental research with extensive scientific literature analysis, data interpretation, and scientific writing. I have particular expertise in critically evaluating emerging scientific ideas, identifying technical risks and opportunities, assessing competing hypotheses, and synthesizing complex literature into clear and actionable insights. These skills have been developed through independent research, manuscript preparation, review article writing, and interdisciplinary collaborations. I have supervised and trained five undergraduate students and three graduate students in research techniques, experimental design, and scientific communication. In 2025, I completed a visiting research appointment at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Germany, where I developed expertise in microfluidic approaches for biomaterials and coacervate systems through a MITACS Globalink-funded collaboration. My technical background includes biomaterials design, peptide self-assembly, phase-separated systems, confocal microscopy, microfluidics, materials characterization, image analysis, and quantitative data analysis. I am particularly interested in projects involving scientific literature reviews, technology assessment, technical due diligence, competitive landscape analysis, scientific writing, and research strategy for biotechnology and advanced materials applications. I enjoy working at the interface of science and decision-making, helping clients understand the strengths, limitations, risks, and opportunities associated with emerging technologies and research directions.
