Profile Summary

Oladayo Daniel Oyetunji, B.Sc. IRPM, MLIS, M. NLA, CLN, F. CIHCDN, is a distinguished Principal Librarian and the Head of Research and Development at the National Library of Nigeria. He is presently a PhD candidate in Library and Information Science at the University of Nigeria. Mr. Oyetunji holds a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Studies (MLIS), awarded on May 22, 2015, and a B.Sc. in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management (May 18, 2007) from Lagos State University. He has also completed various certifications, including the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (1997). He has earned several professional recognitions, including a Certificate of Accomplishment from the Nigerian Library Association (NLA) for his participation in a seminar on Knowledge Management (October 3–6, 2017), and a CIHCDN Professional Research Fellowship Grade Certificate (March 23, 2017). Additionally, he has received multiple CIHCDN certificates for various talent development programmes throughout 2017. He is also recognised as a professional member of the NLA (March 20, 2017) and is certified by the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) (November 8, 2016). With 20 years of service at the National Library of Nigeria, Mr. Oyetunji has progressed through roles from Library Research Associate to Senior Library Research Associate, Principal Library Research Associate, and Chief Library Research Associate. He has also served as a Research Librarian, Senior Research Librarian, and is presently a Principal Research Librarian and Head of Research and Development. His notable publications include “Library and Information Services and the Performance of the National Library of Nigeria’s Personnel in Promoting National Security and Fight Against Insurgency in Nigeria,” featured in the Compendium of NLA 2018 Conference Papers, among other research on human resources management practices and information literacy. Mr. Oyetunji has made significant contributions as an innovator by developing a digital library at the National Library of Nigeria in 2017 and has assisted over 200 B.Sc., Master’s, and Doctoral students with their research since 2001. He possesses skills in human resources and information mining and dissemination, applied analytical and research skills, reference skills, e-library development skills, information and communication skills, and artificial intelligence. .
