Profile Summary

I am a multidisciplinary scientist specialising in the application of mathematical approaches to the agriculture and forestry sectors. Recently, my work has involved the rapid development of a life cycle and overwintering model for fall army worm as part of a bio-security response. I have utilised Bayesian methods to gain valuable insights into stem rust epidemics and cultivar tolerance. Leveraging machine learning techniques, I successfully identified underutilised germplasm in ryegrass breeding programs. Previously in the forestry sector, I focused on quantitative genetics for breeding programs and conducted finite element modelling to study wood formation and cutting-related distortions. Currently, I am exploring the potential of hyper-spectral and remote sensing data to enhance trial quantification and extract comprehensive information.
