Profile Summary

I am a Microbiologist and One Health researcher with expertise in molecular virology, zoonotic pathogens, and microbial genomics, currently pursuing a PhD in Microbiology at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore. My doctoral research focuses on the impact of agro-ecological zones on mosquito vectors (Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus) and arboviral diversity in Pakistan, contributing to vector-borne disease surveillance and One Health preparedness. I am a Fogarty International Research Fellow and IFBA Certified BioRisk Management and Biosecurity Professional with experience working in BSL-3 laboratories during the COVID-19 pandemic, conducting molecular diagnostics and genomic analysis of viral pathogens. My technical expertise includes PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR, multiplex PCR, next-generation sequencing (NGS), phylogenetic analysis, microbial assays, and pathogen genomics. I have authored peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters and have presented my work at national and international scientific conferences. Alongside research, I serve as a Visiting Lecturer, mentoring students and collaborating on projects related to One Health biosecurity, antimicrobial resistance, and emerging infectious diseases.
