Profile Summary

I have a PhD in Chemical Engineering from a Top 20 US Chemical Engineering dept followed by 18 years of academic and industrial experience. I have worked across Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceuticals, Modeling & Simulation, Mechanistic Modeling using first principles involving coupled partial differential equations, Computational Chemistry, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Machine Learning, Polymer Science, Polymer Phase Equilibria, Thermodynamics, Membrane Separations and Biofuels. As a researcher, I have extensive experience in leading experimental campaigns, leading modeling teams as well as hands-on coding in Python & Julia. I have worked extensively as a part of cross-functional international teams. As a Lead of a Centre of Excellence, I have also led high performance teams, conceptualized new projects and worked with multiple stakeholders across the company to get their buy-in and execute the projects. In my last corporate role, I led the Modeling & Simulation Division at a leading Indian Pharmaceutical Company, where we built innovative mathematical models and software related to Process Engineering & Product Development. Previously as a Postdoc and also during my PhD, I have worked extensively on Polymer Science including Polymer Rheology, Polymer Physics, Polymer Phase Equilibria, and Computational Chemistry of Polymers, Ionic Liquids & Organic Molecules. My PhD also involved application of Polymer Science in the area of Membrane Separations, with a focus on dense polymer membranes related to pervaporation and gas separation. As a scientist at the largest company in India, I also demonstrated one of the highest solar capture efficiencies by algae or plants in general for the purpose of producing biofuels. This project also involved in-depth discussions with the Reliance Innovation Council which included Nobel Laureates and the top leadership of the Company.
