Profile Summary

I am a Medical Doctor by training, have a Masters degree in Public Health and a Doctorate in Psychiatric Epidemiology. I have more than 30 years of experience in medical and behavioral sciences R&D, research management, funding procurement, teaching and consulting at several public and private institutions in the USA, Spain and Israel.  My research interests include. among others, Psychiatric epidemiology, health and behavioral determinants disease; Epidemiology; Evaluation of health interventions; Age and ageing; Biotechnology; e-health; Health services; Translational research methods and just in the last two years I have been working as a senior scientist on environmental health and environmental, nature-based technology research and development. My skills include: Research methodologies, study design and evaluation, bibliography search and evaluation, recruitment and follow up techniques, data management techniques, ethical issues in research, questionnaire design and interviewer training,  living labs and open innovation, health communication, grant writing, team building, research evaluation, scientific writing, fund procurement and research management. I am an expert in the European Commission funding programs. I have been professor of medicine and public health, research methodologies and scientific writing. During my professional life I participated as a researcher/leader in six European projects under the 7th Framework program –Horizon 2020 program; was a recipient of nine national grants as principal investigator and participated in 12 national/regional grants as associated researcher. I have  published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and prepared several unpublished reports for international public and private institutions.
