Profile Summary

For nearly a decade I have conducted collegiate scientific studies, communicating my findings to experts in their fields. As a researcher, I played a critical role in collecting and categorizing marine specimens from Bali Indonesia, most of which are permanent fixtures at the Smithsonian Natural Museum of History. As a scientist/graduate student at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign I designed and performed pioneering research on the behavioral patterns of honey bee virgin queens. Despite their importance, little is known of the movements and responses of virgin queens before they emerge as the central reproductive organism for their colony. With my experiment, I produced unprecedented data of these insects. This not only improves the growing body of bee literature but can be critical for preserving an animal with global economic and ecological value. With my past experiences, I can provide the technical support essential and explain complex scientific principles to persons of any educational level Providing guidance for statistical analysis as well as consulting biological projects are my primary interests.
