Profile Summary

With a career spanning more than four decades in the UAE’s water and energy sectors, I have developed extensive expertise in groundwater exploration, drilling operations, hydrological analysis, and well design. My professional journey began in 1975 with the Ground Water Department in Al Ain, where as an Assistant Drilling Engineer I supervised water-well drilling operations, performed lithological and sieve analyses, conducted pumping tests, designed wells, and oversaw development and completion to optimize aquifer yield and water quality. From 1982 to 1987, I served as a Drilling Supervisor with Umm Al-Dhalkh Development Company (UDECO) in Abu Dhabi, managing offshore oil-field drilling operations in accordance with company programs, coordinating third-party engineering services, ensuring safe and efficient casing, cementing, completion, and workover operations, and enforcing rigorous HSE standards on the rig. Since 1990, I have been part of the Ground Water Research Program (GWRP) of the National Drilling Company, a collaborative initiative with the USGS focused on advancing groundwater resource studies in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. As a Hydrologist, I oversee groundwater exploration drilling, evaluate lithological samples, interpret geophysical logs, assess aquifer salinity, and recommend well designs tailored to subsurface conditions. My career reflects a deep commitment to responsible groundwater development, technical excellence, and advancing the understanding of the region’s critical water resources.
