Profile Summary

I am a microbiologist currently getting my PhD studying viruses that infect bacteria (bacteriophages) as well as the CRISPR-Cas system. Past projects include work on: - Bioreactor model for microbiome study - Bioinformatic analyses of bacterial genome - Management of a biological collection of viruses - Optimization of a thermophile industrial bacterial strain I have experience communicating science in both French and English and have written (successful) scholarship applications and academic papers in both languages. I am also a scientific illustrator, using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign to generated high quality original scientific images and diagrams (examples can be found in my publications). I have always been involved in scientific education, either through direct mentoring and teaching at Université Laval and McMaster University but also through Let's Talk Science. My position as an program coordinator as well as outreach volunteer has given me the opportunity to deliver scientific content to a wide array of the public, from school age children to adults working outside of academia. I have won multiple awards for oral presentations and am comfortable using online platform to deliver content in real time if necessary.
