Epidemiologist & mixed-methods researcher — study design through analysis-ready data

Profile Summary

I'm an epidemiologist (M.S., Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai) who's good at the unglamorous parts of research: cleaning a messy dataset until it's actually usable, building a codebook that holds up under a second coder, writing a methods section a reviewer won't bounce back. Most of my work is public health — HIV and STI services, health equity, community needs assessments. At the moment I'm the data analyst on a status-neutral needs assessment covering 10,000+ survey records across 12 Texas counties, doing everything from respondent-driven sampling logistics to ZIP-level geospatial mapping to qualitative coding of key-informant interviews. My first-author scoping review on environmental exposures and menopausal symptoms ran in Current Epidemiology Reports last year, so I've taken a project the full distance, from PRISMA screening to print. I work in R, Python, SQL, and SAS. If you need someone who can shape the study, wrangle the data, and then explain what it means to people who don't speak statistics, that's the part of the job I like most.
