Profile Summary

I have over 30 years experience as an immunologist, scientist and writer, initially in academia studying regulatory T cells in autoimmune disease and leukaemia. I worked closely with the Scottish National Blood Transfusion service at this time. I moved to Vancouver for a short postdoc investigating regulatory T cells in Toxoplasmosis, then returned to Scotland as a research fellow investigating T cell responses to fungal infection. I then took the chance to work for a CRO in Edinburgh, gaining experience in immune oncology investigating various immune cell types (including Th17, Treg, Th1, Tc, exhausted T cells, macrophages and DC). I have lectured students at all levels, managed staff and projects routinely, and I have experience in a wide range of laboratory techniques. I have considerable writing experience including authoring journal articles, poster presentations, grant applications, ethical applications, SOPs, risk assessments, study plans, study reports, white papers, scientific blogs, web design and promotional marketing material as well as editing all these documents on behalf of their authors, journals or review boards. I have self published two novels with a third due for release in the near future.
