Profile Summary

I have accumulated technical expertise, research, and leadership experience spanning over 16 years, with a significant focus on long-term livelihoods, rural economic resilience, and research projects in universities and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Currently, I am a Project manager for research projects with the University of Florida's Livestock Innovation Lab, namely Campylobacter Genomics and Environmental Enteric Dysfunction (CAGED) and Exposure Assessment of Campylobacter Infections in Rural Ethiopia (EXCAM), funded by the Gates Foundation. In addition, I am a local coordinator (L-PI) for the Pull-Push Project, an initiative led by the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), the Urban Food Markets in Africa: Incentivizing Food Safety to promote food safety in African urban food markets. Moreover, I serve as a co-principal investigator (Co-PI) for the LASER PULSE Project in partnership with Purdue University, focusing on empowering youth through livelihood transformation in eastern Ethiopia's pastoral and agro-pastoral areas.
