Profile Summary

Upon completing my undergraduate studies in the area of Banking and Finance, I worked as an analyst and practitioner in the field of project management in the Kyrgyz Project Promotion Agency. My roles was to help the clients structure their project proposals as per requirements set by the various funding agencies. Since 2005 I have been advising a regional start up - EcommerCenter, on developing and structuring Dubai's first ranking of MBA programs. In 2014 I joined the regional award-winning HR consultancy - Urban Associates, where I served as the Senior Consultant. Most recently, I joined the editorial team at the Estonia-based business blog - SMEinnovator.com, which focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship and SMEs. Education: - I hold the BA in Economics from the Kyrgyz State National University - In June 2010, I completed the MSc in Finance and Banking from the British University in Dubai, a program which was administered in association with the CASS Business School. As the subject of final dissertation, I choose the “Comparative Analysis of Risks in SUKUK and Conventional Bonds” - Since 2020 I am pursuing PhD in Islamic Finance at Qatar-based Hamad Bin Khalifa University where my research focuses on the Open Banking regulations In addition to above, I completed graduate level courses in the areas of Sustainability and Corporate Finance at the Harvard Extension School. My article focusing on the Islamic finance and sukuk was published by the Islamic Finance News (Malaysia) and my paper on sukuk was selected for presentation at the Durham Islamic Finance Conference-2010 (UK). In addition, my proposal was selected for presentation at the Tenth Harvard University Forum on Islamic Finance in 2012.
