Profile Summary

I am an accomplished and prolific researcher. I earned my PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Texas Medical Branch. My research interest include technology, motivation for exercise, and behavior change. I'm current working as the Fitness Research Manager at Beachbody, LLC. My research involves using personal technologies (e.g. activity monitors, video games) to enhance an individual's motivation to exercise. I also evaluate the relationship between physical activity and chronic diseases, particularly among special populations such as cancer survivors and older adults. During my doctoral work, I participated in a variety of research projects with several research populations. I have conducted observational and experimental research involving healthy older adults, older Mexican Americans, breast cancer survivors, and primary care patients. I have also received additional training in conducting systematic reviews, analyzing qualitative data, and promoting exercise among cancer survivors.
