Profile Summary

I am a Protein Biochemist and Cell Biologist with more than 8 years of experience in the dynamics of chromosome segregation. Kinetochore is a macro-molecular machine that ensures proper chromosome segregation every time a cell divides. I am particularly interested in kinetochore architecture, function, and kinetochore-mictrotubule dynamics. At present, I am building an artificial kinetochore on a DNA origami platform to study its architecture, function, and dynamics with nano-meter precision. I have studied several different budding yeast proteins using a wide variety of biophysical, biochemical and microscopic methods.
