Profile Summary

Have worked on a project to determine the transcriptome (expressed part of the genome) of an oilseed of by analysing expression from 12 different tissue samples. Also, I studied the differential expression of genes upon the treatment of host plant with biocontrol agent, with and without pathogen infection. I have experience in extracting microsatellite sequences from genome and design primers, analyse the microsatellite (SSR) markers for polymorphism in resequenced genomes using blast tool. Can calculate differential expression from qPCR Ct (Cq) values. Can analyse mass-spectrometry data of proteins Can generate distance based-phylogenetic trees based on multiple alignment of homologous sequences (DNA and protein). Can retrieve probable homologous sequence for sequence of interest using blast search.
