Profile Summary

For the last 10 years, I have dedicated my life to building my scientific career. I have devoted to the study of neglected tropical diseases, specifically leishmaniasis, and finding new treatment strategies for them. I was the head of two projects involving science awareness and cientific communication; in the first, called Project Rondon, together with a group of undergrad students and university professors, we have participated in a series on seminars and activities in which we taught (and learned from) about emerging diseases in a underdeveloped town in Sao Paulo, Brazil. On the second project, called "Biocientista Mirim", also in the same city, we have brought schools and university closer by inviting the children to have a cientist's experience. Through the years, I have developed a huge passion in scientific communication and desire to develop further my skills and experience to help spread awareness on human and animal health wherever necessary.
