Profile Summary

My name is Tiara N. Jackson, PhD, MPH, CHES. I am a nationally recognized research and evaluation leader with more than 15 years of experience designing and directing complex, stakeholder-driven studies that advance equity and improve outcomes across health, education, and social service systems. I currently serve as Director of Research Operations at Decision Information Resources, Inc., where I oversee a portfolio of federal, state, and philanthropic projects and leads a multidisciplinary team conducting large-scale mixed-methods evaluations on topics ranging from early childhood well-being to workforce development and health system innovation. Throughout my career, I have built a reputation for translating data into actionable insights and guiding organizations in using evidence to inform policy and practice. At the NORC at the University of Chicago, I played a key leadership role on multiple national research and evaluation projects for agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Health Resources and Services Administration, and the Office of Minority Health; advancing initiatives to expand telehealth access, strengthen the behavioral health workforce, and build evaluation capacity. In this role, I also contributed to securing more than $7 million in new federal contracts and served as a voting member of NORC’s Institutional Review Board. Prior to my work at NORC, I was a Senior Research Associate at the Center for Child and Family Studies (CCFS) in the College of Social Work at the University of South Carolina, where I led multiple research studies focused on evaluating workforce development programs for social service agencies, examining the influence of social determinants of health on underserved populations, and exploring the social, educational, and health outcomes of youth transitioning out of foster care. In addition to my time at CCFS, I worked as a health educator and evaluator at Prisma Health Hospital (formerly Palmetto Health Hospital), collaborating with medical professionals and community stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate community-based nutrition and physical activity interventions targeting at-risk populations across the life course. My expertise spans research design, program evaluation, implementation science, and strategic technical assistance, and my work has been widely disseminated through peer-reviewed publications, national conferences, and policy reports.
