Profile Summary

I am currently a medical student at Mercer University School of Medicine. My goal is to be a US Navy Flight Surgeon and specialize in Aerospace Medicine. I actually began working on synthetic biology research since I was in high school as a researcher for CarryGenes Therapeutics. From there, I attended the University of Georgia where I achieved my Bachelors degree in Genetics. I strongly believe we are on the cusp of a medical evolution and hope to provide my patients the absolute best care using the most my understanding of their genome. While I was attending UGA, I worked as a consultant for a nutrigenomics start-up where I was able to teach private companies and clinicians about personalized medicine while also building a polygenic risk score calculator. My undergraduate thesis was on the topic of epigenetic modifications and chromatin remodeling via an inducible CRISPR system. I have been apart of several research & development projects, ranging from subjects like cancer biology, synthetic biology, epigenetic modifications, infectious disease, fungal genomics, bacterial genomics, mammalian genomics, and nutrigenomics. I enjoy appearing on podcasts to talk about the significant changes occurring in the genomics industry and I administrate a social media platform that focuses on teaching my followers about genetics. I have grown a successful page on Instagram and have a strong network of science communicators, media specialists, and content creators there.
