Profile Summary

I am a bioinformatics scientist and PhD researcher specializing in microbiome research, shotgun metagenomics, microbial genomics, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) analysis. I help researchers and organizations transform high-throughput sequencing data into meaningful biological insights through reproducible computational workflows. My expertise includes microbiome profiling, metagenome-assembled genome (MAG) reconstruction, taxonomic and functional annotation, comparative genomics, resistome analysis, microbial ecology, and multi-omics data analysis. I have worked extensively with environmental and host-associated microbiomes, including household, wastewater, freshwater, and geothermal ecosystems. I develop end-to-end bioinformatics pipelines for Illumina and Oxford Nanopore sequencing data, covering quality control, genome assembly, binning, phylogenomic analysis, functional annotation, antibiotic resistance gene detection, virulence factor analysis, and microbial community profiling. I also perform advanced statistical analyses, including alpha and beta diversity, PERMANOVA, differential abundance testing, ordination, correlation analyses, and publication-quality data visualization. I am proficient in R, Bash, Linux, high-performance computing (SLURM), and widely used bioinformatics tools, including QIIME 2, MetaPhlAn, HUMAnN, GTDB-Tk, CheckM2, DRAM, dRep, Prokka, DIAMOND, Kraken2, Bowtie2, IQ-TREE, and RAxML. Currently, I am pursuing my PhD at the CSIR–Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR-IGIB), New Delhi, where my research focuses on genome-resolved metagenomics to investigate microbial ecology and antimicrobial resistance in Indian households.
