I am Dr. Syed Javed Ahmad Rizvi, Associate Professor in Polymer Technology at the Department of Petroleum Studies, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, India. I lead the Polymer and Composite Materials Laboratory, which I established in the department. Educational Background: I hold a Ph.D. from IIT Delhi on "Microcellular Injection Molding of Thermoplastic Foams," an M.Tech. in Polymer Science & Technology from IIT Delhi, and a B.Tech. in Chemical Technology (Plastics Technology) from HBTI Kanpur. Experience and Skills: With over 23 years of teaching and research experience, my expertise spans polymer science and technology, polymer composites, microcellular thermoplastic foams, polymer processing (especially injection molding), nanocomposites, mechanical and thermomechanical properties of polymers, and product design. I have prior industry experience as Senior Engineer in Application Engineering & R&D at DGP Windsor (India) Ltd. My skills include optimization of processing parameters, rheological studies, crystallinity analysis, and development of lightweight porous materials. Research Projects and Contributions: My research focuses on advanced polymer processing techniques, microcellular foaming for ultra-low-density materials, nanocomposites (e.g., polypropylene and ABS-based), and sustainable composites (including waste PET applications). I have contributed to proton exchange membranes and lattice/porous materials. I hold three granted Indian patents and have received the national Plasticon 2015 Award from PlastIndia Foundation. Publications and Impact: I have authored more than 35 research papers in reputed journals (e.g., International Polymer Processing, Materials Letters) and presented at international conferences (PPS, PFAM).
