Profile Summary

I am a PhD-trained Clinical Neuroscientist with over 5 years of experience spanning academic experimental medicine and industry-based CNS drug development. I currently work as a Clinical Research Scientist at a clinical-stage neuropsychiatry biotech, where I independently lead early-phase clinical trial design and execution, including full protocol development, regulatory submissions (REC, MHRA, FDA), CRO and vendor management, and biomarker strategy. My work focuses on novel cannabinoid-based therapies for brain disorders, and I contribute directly to long-term development strategy alongside executive leadership. My doctoral research at Brighton and Sussex Medical School used human models of neuroinflammation (endotoxin administration) to investigate the brain pathways underlying depressive symptoms and to develop translational target engagement tools for neuroimmune-modulating antidepressants. This involved multimodal neuroimaging (quantitative PET with pharmacokinetic modelling, diffusion-weighted MR spectroscopy), behavioural and subjective outcome measures, and quantification of circulating immune biomarkers. I led all stages of study delivery independently, from ethics submissions and participant recruitment through to data analysis and peer-reviewed publication. My expertise spans CNS clinical development, experimental medicine, neuroimaging, regulatory documentation, and translational biomarker strategy — with a strong ability to bridge academic rigour and industry delivery.
