I was responsible for: The collection, screening, extraction, and optimization of Actinobacteria metabolites. Applying techniques like MIC, TLC, and HPLC to evaluate the antifungal properties of these metabolites. Managing subculturing, fermentation, and characterization of antifungal compounds. The project revealed the significant potential of Actinobacteria in producing potent antifungal compounds. Gut Microbiome and Cardiovascular Diseases Review Paper (March 2023 – March 2024) Co-authored a review paper exploring the relationship between the gut microbiome and cardiovascular health, specifically focusing on the effects of a high-fat diet, microbial dysbiosis, and how gut microbiota impacts cardiovascular risk factors like inflammation, lipid metabolism, and blood pressure regulation. This work emphasized the potential of gut microbiome-targeted interventions for managing cardiovascular diseases. Biotechnological Interventions for Microplastic Pollution Mitigation (February 2023 – February 2024) As a co-author of a review paper on microplastic pollution, I researched the biotechnological methods for monitoring and mitigating microplastic contamination. This work explored the impact of microplastic bioaccumulation on marine ecosystems and human health, while also proposing bio-based plastic alternatives to tackle single-use plastics.
