Hello! My name is Rebeca, and I am a clinical researcher with 13 years of experience in the field of Respiratory, Cardiovascular Medicine & Exercise Physiology. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy and have completed a Masters, PhD, and Postdoctoral fellowship in Cardiorespiratory and Exercise Physiology. Throughout my career, I have completed three international research internships and worked closely with renowned researchers at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Milan (UniMi). I am passionate about Exercise Physiology and the cardiorespiratory responses to exercise, with strong experience in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation and gas exchange analysis during CPET in different exercise protocols, considering diverse cardiorespiratory diseases. In 2023, I was recognized as an outstanding Early Career Professional by the American Thoracic Society (ATS). I work in the peer-review process of scientific manuscripts since 2021, reviewing papers for renowned journals in my field, including Respiratory Care, COPD Journal, ECS affiliated journals, and others. I am proficient in English and Portuguese, and have basic level of Italian. I am currently studying Chinese. My favorite part about editing is identifying and raising key physiological questions that can enhance the clinical value of a manuscript. I like bridging physiology with clinical relevance to help authors strengthen the impact of their work. By doing so, I aim to increase the manuscript's chances of acceptance in high quality journals and, ultimately, to support the translation of research findings into evidence-based clinical practice.
