Profile Summary

I earned my PhD in Physiology investigating factors regulating vascular pathology and then completed postdoctoral training in transcriptome profiling in the contexts of cardiac and stem cell biology. I have experience in bioinformatics and network biology, and am well versed in differential gene expression (DGE), gene regulatory network (GRN) and protein-protein interaction (PPI) analyses. Upon completion of my research fellowship, I started and developed a research program in Cardiac Systems Biology, specifically focused on understanding idiopathic mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmogenesis. As a Principal Investigator in this area, I was supported by grants from the American Heart Association as well as the National Institutes of Health. I have extensive experience publishing, editing, and reviewing a variety of scientific literature that include manuscripts and grant proposals. In addition to my research interests, I am the Founder and CEO of med/STEM Communications, a medical and scientific writing service geared towards helping clinical and scientific professionals with their writing needs. I am also the co-Founder and Scientific Director of the STaR Program, a competitive STEM training program geared towards helping high school juniors and seniors develop a research project and refine their scientific acumen.
