Profile Summary

I am a PhD-qualified Environmental Scientist and Postdoctoral Researcher with over 8 years of experience in environmental science, sustainability research, and scientific writing. My expertise lies in microplastics and nanoplastics pollution, environmental monitoring, toxicology, recycling and circular economy, and evidence-based sustainability assessments. I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at IMT Mines Alès, France, where my research focuses on airborne micro- and nanoplastics generated during mechanical recycling processes, including exposure assessment and toxicological evaluation. I previously worked as a Senior Research Associate at the University of East Anglia (UK), contributing to large, multi-institutional projects on microplastics in marine environments, water, sediment, and biota, with outcomes supporting environmental monitoring and spatial planning. My research experience spans laboratory-based analysis, field studies, and applied environmental research, using advanced analytical techniques such as Raman spectroscopy, μFTIR, SEM, GC-MS, DSC, and fluorescence microscopy. I have led and contributed to projects examining microplastics in food, cosmetics, road dust, wastewater, and aquatic ecosystems, as well as their ecological and toxicological impacts. Alongside research, I have strong experience in scientific and technical writing, including: Peer-reviewed journal articles (26+ publications) Literature reviews and systematic reviews Technical and consultancy reports Research summaries and policy-relevant documents Responses to journal reviewers and manuscript editing I have collaborated with academic institutions, industry partners, and regulatory stakeholders, translating complex scientific findings into clear, accessible reports for diverse audiences. I also have university-level teaching experience, having taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in environmental science and sustainability.
