Profile Summary

I would like to introduce myself as V. Raghavendra working as research scholar in the field of computational chemistry. Specifically, for my PhD, I work on the design of organic molecules that can be used in photovoltaic cell, particularly in dye sensitized solar cells (DSSC). With the help of quantum chemical software programs, I run simulations of the designed molecules and verify if the molecular properties such as electron density, frontier molecular orbital, free energy for electron release etc are met for the application in DSSC. Having mentioned briefly about my research work, I would like to share my other topics of interest with you. In general, I am passionate about learning. I am excited about reading and learning new things. I am very passionate about science in particular. Although, my research is focused in the broad area of physical chemistry, I also enjoy reading and updating myself with other subjects such as physics, biology, neuroscience, politics, space science and technology etc. To mention about the latest topic, recently, I was baffled by the concept of ‘quantum computation’. I keep myself updated with such topics by reading blogs from science blogging websites, Facebook updates, etc. Therefore, I am completely aware of the influence that such blogs can have on a common man and a researcher. I have strong sense of appreciation for such blogs. Since I enjoy learning from such blogs, I also enjoy thinking about how the contents are made. I often wonder about what goes on in one’s mind while preparing the content for public viewing. I consider that my educational background and scientific training can help me in writing good scientific articles.
