I contributed to a research project titled "Effect of Coping Strategies on Patients with Diabetes Distress: A Hospital-based Parallel Open-labelled Randomized Controlled Trial." This hospital-based study employed a parallel open-labelled randomized controlled trial design. My responsibilities spanned all aspects of the project, including conceptualization, protocol development, participant recruitment, intervention delivery, data analysis, and dissemination of findings. As a Project Assistant on the research project “Trends and Patterns in the Epidemiology, Risk Factors, and Impact of T2DM on Premature Morbidity and Mortality Rates in India: A Secondary Data Analysis Using National Datasets,” funded by the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) at the Department of Community and Family Medicine, AIIMS Bathinda, I gained extensive experience in project management, data analysis, and report writing. This role also provided me with a deeper understanding of public health and its applications in addressing chronic diseases like Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). Academically, I hold a Master's in Human Genetics, where I conducted a detailed study focusing on differential gene expression and enrichment analysis. My research aimed to identify differentially expressed genes associated with drug responses in patients with Ulcerative Colitis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I performed enrichment analyses to explore pathways impacted by these genes and their interrelations. This work contributed to the identification of potential biomolecules as novel drug targets, with the goal of reducing adverse drug reactions and improving therapeutic outcomes. These experiences reflects my ability to design and execute rigorous clinical research, collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, and deliver evidence-based healthcare solutions.
