Profile Summary

I am a Biochemist and PhD researcher in Biochemistry at Covenant University, Nigeria, with extensive experience in malaria research, mosquito vector biology, and molecular approaches to disease control. My ongoing doctoral research focuses on the development of a nanoparticle RNAi-based insecticide for mosquito control, integrating molecular biology and computational techniques such as molecular docking. I hold an MSc in Biochemistry from the University of Bamenda, Cameroon, where my thesis investigated the use of Vectomax larvicide for malaria vector control in Yaoundé, and a BSc in Biochemistry focusing on the antioxidant properties of medicinal plants. Over the past several years, I have gained hands-on expertise at the OCEAC Research Institute (Yaoundé, Cameroon), where I carried out molecular diagnostics, mosquito rearing, insecticide resistance bioassays, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, ELISA, and genomic surveillance of malaria vectors. I have also presented and won awards at multiple international conferences, including the World Malaria Day “Thesis in 3 Minutes” competition and the CAFOBIOS Life Science Conference. I also had the opportunity to be part of the second cohort for the OGOBARA DOUMBO 3-month internship Scholarship training for Malaria. In addition to my wet-lab background, I have developed strong skills in computational biology, particularly molecular docking. I am proficient in Microsoft Office, SPSS, R, and molecular modeling techniques, enabling me to analyze and interpret complex datasets. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Medical Entomology and the American Journal of Biomedical Research. I am an active member of the Pan-African Mosquito Control Association (PAMCA) and regularly participate in workshops on genomic surveillance, molecular diagnostics, and scientific innovation. I am passionate about vector control, infectious disease research, and computational approaches to drug/insecticide discovery, and I bring a strong combination of academic rigor, laboratory expertise, and computational insight to every project.
