Profile Summary

I am Nauman Zaheer Ghumman from Pakistan, and I am basically a Veterinarian with MPhil Qualification in Clinical Veterinary Medicine. I have completed my degree from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore, Pakistan. The focus of my research was specifically on the domain of “Staphyloccocus aureus associated multiple drug resistance in bovine mastitis”. I am expert at the niche of Animal Health, Antibiotic Resistance and Public Health research. This degree makes me professionally competent in the field of research in bovine mastitis associated pathogens and opened my mind to know more about genomic characterization of virulent Staphylococcus in bovine mastitis. During M.Phil, I accomplished my research project on topic entitled "Determination of multiple drug resistance against field isolates of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in bovine mastitis” which propels me to learn about the molecular and epidemiological occurrence along with antibiotic resistance profiling of MRSA in bovines. I also remained successful by publishing four research article in peer-reviewed impact factor journals internationally. Moreover, I have also published a book chapter entitled as “Beta-Lactam Antibiotics Resistance in S. aureus: Mechanisms and Resistance Modulation Strategies” in book “Animal Health Perspective” in Wiley associated platform. As far as my research experience is concerned, I have two years of working experience as a research assistant in a project entitled “Mechanistic study of MRSA in bovines and occupational workers and its application in field conditions” which exposed me to learn about the bilateral transmission of MRSA among the livestock and their associated workers. Moreover, working as a team member in another research project on “Development of the polyvalent vaccine against pathogenic S. aureus in all dairy animals” further strengthened my professional knowledge and helped me in learning new mechanisms of virulence in bacteria. The molecular characterization of S. aureus in aspects of all pathogenic genes and development of polyvalent killed vaccine also augmented my technical skills and escalated my hunger of knowing more about the pathogenesis and genotypic insight to infectious bacteria involve in intramammary infection.
