Profile Summary

I have 10 years of experience in molecular biology performing various tests and analyses both in academia and in the biotechnology industry. In academia, I have performed genomic DNA and RNA extraction, PCR analysis, plasmid construction, design and cloning, heterologous expression of proteins from cloned genes as well as protein purification, recovery, and renaturation, protein analysis by SDS-PAGE, following Zymograms and western-blotting. In the biotech industry, during my summer internship at Syngenta in North Carolina, I have worked in yeast-two-hybrid experiments evaluating protein interactions in vivo and testing chemicals to improve temperature stress tolerance in maize. When I returned to Brazil, I founded a startup on genomic analysis called Progenes, performing quantitative real-time quantitative PCR to identify SNPs related to sports performance and metabolism.
