👩🏼‍🔬🧪 Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, experienced in basic and applied research in academia and private start-ups respectively. 🌱🧬 During my PhD, I specialized in plant molecular physiology and photomorphogenesis (plant growth and development guided by light cues). I studied how molecular signalling (signal transduction, gene regulatory networks, intra- and inter-organ signalling) and hormonal networks integrate information about environmental conditions (e.g. light, salinity, water availability, temperature and photoperiod) affecting plant development and growth. On a day-to-day basis, this work implied mastering: - literary review - experimental design - quantitative data analysis - profound knowledge of phytohormone regulation and signalling - confocal microscopy - standard molecular biology techniques (PCR; DNA, RNA and proteins extraction and quantification; chlorophyll and other pigments extraction and quantification) - plant culture in phytotron chambers and greenhouses for experimentation - plant phenotyping (hyponasty, internode number and length, leaf area, stomatal density, stomatal aperture). 🦠😷 During 2020, I joined a COVID-19 molecular diagnosis facility as a Laboratory Technician and Shift Manager. This included training in GLP, ISO9001, QMS and coordinating daily laboratory tasks to obtain high-quality results and successfully achieve strict time deadlines in results´ delivery. 💡🚀 Since then, and driven to create real-world solutions, I have worked in R&D for various start-ups, contributing to designing and implementing projects focused on developing biotechnological products and solutions. These job experiences expanded my skills to: - molecular cloning and vector design - agrobacterium-mediated transient and stable transformation of plants and single-cells in suspension culture - plant cell culture, plant callogenesis, plant callus in vitro culture - project management - innovation management - technology roadmapping 🎯💡I am deeply engaged in and committed to my projects, bringing a detailed understanding of scientific and technological aspects.
