Over 13 years of NPD Experience working for Brands and Contract Manufacturers; Large FMCGs and SMEs. My specialism is in the development of Oral Care products, aqueous and nonaqueous formats, natural strategies, and manufacturing solutions. I have rich expertise in Hair Growth and Scalp-Care cosmetics, rinse-off and leave-on formats, and silicone-free strategies. I am also experienced in pro-aging Skin Care, creams, serums, sunscreens and cleansers, silicone and natural formats. I started my career working for GlaxoSmithKline and developed a new innovative multifunctional Aquafresh toothpaste to reduce malodour and sustain fresh breath claims worth £27m and a cost-reduced formulation with a total savings of £1.2m. At contract manufacturers I formulated innovative skincare and hair care products exploring efficacious actives for for brands such as Elemis and Josh Wood, Yonghe (hair loss experts in China), Michael Van Clark, Plump it, Sarah Jessica Parker brands. I have developed oil-in-water, water-in-oil and water in silicone formulations, serums, cream gels, gels, scalp serums and toners, hair styling products, shampoos and conditioners. I headed up the formulation development department at Givaudan Oral Care where I developed new formulations for niche brands and internal innovation projects. These formulations included non-aqueous and aqueous formats, high abrasives like calcium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, charcoal and various anti-bacterial mouth wash formulations. At chemical ingredient distributor, I developed kits including mineral and chemical sunscreens, oil in water and water in oil, and silicone emulsions and serums. In summary I have experience of developing new technology driven cosmetic formulations as well as cost-reduction initiatives. I have led many transfers into factories and have led teams and projects to 30+ global launches. I have a solid foundation in Quality Assurance and Regulatory understanding of the cosmetic industry in Europe and China.
