Profile Summary

I began my scientific career as pharmacist and I concluded my master in pharmacy at University of Brasília (Brazil) where I acquired a lot of experience at fungus manipulation, protein purification and biophysical and biochemical protein analysis. Afterwards, I enter the Ph.D. in Biotechnology program at University of São Paulo (Brazil), where I participate in elucidating the sugar tailoring steps in the cosmomycin D biosynthetic pathway. For this, I performed an internship at University of Oviedo (Spain) where I improved my skills in molecular biology, microbiology techniques of actinomycetes, and chromatographic approaches. Moreover, I have a wide variety of lab techniques regarding hydrolysis experiments and biological activity test; along with computer skills. At the moment, I am working as Postdoc at Chemistry Department at Queen's University (Kingston, Ontario, Canada). My job is to perform biochemical studies to provide insights into fluorination steps of fluorinated natural products.
