Profile Summary

I'm an chemist by training, with a PhD focused on functional nanomaterials and academic roots in inorganic chemistry. Much of my research life has been spent at the bench, synthesising nanomaterials and metal–organic frameworks — but somewhere along the way I realised I enjoy writing about science as much as doing it. Over the years I've built real depth on the written side of research: literature reviews, manuscript preparation, technical editing, proposal writing, and science communication. I'm comfortable reading critically, drawing together threads from very different sources, and turning dense, complicated science into writing that's clear, precise, and a pleasure to read — whether the reader is a specialist or coming to the topic fresh. That's the work I do with clients. I help with literature reviews and research proposals, journal articles and technical reports, data interpretation, getting manuscripts ready for publication, presentations, and broader science-communication projects. My curiosity runs across nanotechnology, materials chemistry, spectroscopy, surface science, catalysis, energy materials, and biomedical nanotechnology — and, just as happily, into the history and philosophy of science. Outside the lab I keep a sizeable personal library, in print and digital, spanning chemistry, materials science, physics, mathematics, and the history of science. Reading widely across both the classics and the newest work keeps me current, and it has quietly made me a better writer.
