I am a tenured professor of chemistry at a liberal arts college. I have written two textbooks as sole author, one with Pearson and one with Macmillan.  The second one is in the second edition. My textbooks are geared toward nonscience majors and teach science through storytelling. I have experience with all aspects of the publishing process, including writing, proofreading, production, layout, styling and formatting, photographic research, accuracy checking, and developmental editing. I also have extensive experience as an educator and curriculum designer.

I am a professional editor with certification from the University of Chicago. I can edit fiction and nonfiction. I am open to ghostwriting and proofreading work. I have recently begun work as a freelancer with a major, well-regarded scientific journal and with a company that prepares journal articles for non-English-speaking scientists. Those positions both required rigorous editing tests. I also currently freelance as a formulations chemist, helping a small company develop a new product line.
