Research Focus & Ongoing Projects My lab is focused on cutting-edge investigations into clinically significant pathogens and complex human health disorders, integrating both wet-lab and computational approaches. 1. Microbial Pathogenesis and Genomics • Pathogen Focus: Investigations into the pathogenesis of clinically significant fungal pathogens, primarily Candida spp. and mucormycosis-causing fungi. • Research Areas: Exploring the mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance and host-pathogen interactions. • Wet-Lab Integration: Comprehensive in vitro and in vivo experimentation, including antifungal screening and nanoparticle synthesis studies. 2. Multi-Omics and Disease Pathophysiology • Integrative Data Analysis: Leading research in microbial genomics, transcriptomics, and the human microbiome. • Complex System Decoding: Utilizing expertise in R and Python to decode complex biological systems and their direct relevance to human health. • Immunological Disorders: Current investigations include the use of integrative multi-omics profiling to provide comprehensive insights into the pathophysiology and host immune responses associated with immune-mediated disorders, such as Kawasaki disease.
