Profile Summary

I'm Kate, a PhD candidate at Imperial College London specialising in the metabonomic and microbiomic stratification of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) patients. I have experience practically with sample preparation for this, and analysis through NMR, gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GCMS), and liquid chromatography MS (LCMS). I have experience processing this data in Matlab, SIMCA and R. My background is in biomedical science, having completed a BSc in Biomedical sciences at the University of Westminster (1st class Hons), and an MRes in biomedical research at Imperial (Distinction) with two rotations in traumatic brain injury, and the microbiome/metabolome. My current research projects include targeted assay development for LCMS, and sample preparation for studies focusing on several topics including IBD, Primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC).
