Profile Summary

I’m a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Mayo Clinic where I study how the brain and body systemically age and define the molecular signals that shape cellular aging. My training is in Biomedical Engineering. I completed both my Ph.D. and B.S. at Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus on regenerative medicine, and my work now blends wet-lab biology, engineering, and computational analysis. Current Research (Mayo Clinic) My postdoctoral work centers on the neurobiology of aging. I use single-cell spatial transcriptomics and deep RNA sequencing to characterize senescence, sex differences, and cellular vulnerability in aging. I also study how senescent cells and their secretory profiles (SASP) influence aging. Previous Research (VCU & Beyond) During my Ph.D., I focused on neuromuscular biology and regenerative medicine. My dissertation investigated how muscle–nerve communication shapes muscle maturation, synapse formation, and regeneration. I used RNA-seq to study neuromuscular junction development and identified potential pathways to improve nerve re-innervation after traumatic injury. During my undergrad research, I also developed custom sensorimotor data-collection systems integrating pressure arrays, microcontroller programming (C++), and device engineering to study early motor dysfunction in infants. I now extend this mechanical expertise to building liquid handling robots with local LLM-driven capabilities with hopes of deploying the suite of robots in my future neurobiology lab. Skills & Expertise I bring combined strengths in wet-lab/aseptic techniques, neurobiology, regenerative medicine, and quantitative analysis. My technical background includes RNA-seq and spatial-omics pipelines, histology, 3D bioprinting, in vitro cell culture, and medical device prototyping. I also have experience in microcontroller programming, Bluetooth circuitry, and CAD modeling. I also previously worked in technology licensing, supporting patent evaluation and commercial translation positioning me uniquely to consult both device design and the patent process. Teaching & Mentorship I’ve taught and assisted courses in biomedical instrumentation and design methods and have mentored multiple undergraduate researchers.
