Profile Summary

I am a Junior Research Scientist and M.Sc. graduate in Analytical Chemistry with specialized expertise in energy storage materials, particularly sodium-ion batteries and supercapacitors. I have strong hands-on experience in material synthesis, electrode formulation, electrochemical characterization, and data interpretation. I recently completed my M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry at the Postgraduate Institute of Science, University of Peradeniya (CGPA: 3.72/4.00). My thesis focused on the “Structural, Thermal, and Electrochemical Investigation of Iron-Doped Manganese Nitroprussides as Prussian Blue Analogue Cathodes for Sodium-Ion Batteries.” During my M.Sc., I also served as Secretary of the Sodium-Ion Battery and Supercapacitor Inter-University Project, where I managed budgeting, sourcing, and reporting. Previously, I worked as a Research Scientist at Codegen International (Pvt) Ltd in collaboration with the University of Peradeniya (2023–2025). In this role, I designed and synthesized Prussian blue analogue cathode materials using pH-controlled EDTA-assisted co-precipitation. I performed comprehensive structural and electrochemical characterization using FTIR, Raman, PXRD, SEM, PSA, TGA, CV, GCD, and EIS, and fabricated & tested coin cells under inert glovebox conditions. Currently, I am working as a Junior Research Scientist at Volfpack Energy (Pvt) Ltd, where I am involved in material development for supercapacitors and EDLCs. My responsibilities include developing SBR-CMC binder systems for improved electrode formulation and coating performance, supporting electrode coating R&D, and performing electrochemical analysis and characterization of electrode materials. I am also contributing to a collaborative supercapacitor R&D project with nanoCaps®, Norway. I am a co-first author of a Q1 journal publication in Small Science (2024) titled “Intercalating Graphite-Based Na-Ion Battery Anodes with Integrated Magnetite,” which demonstrated excellent long-term cycling stability (99.9% capacity retention over 1000 cycles).
