Profile Summary

As a postgraduate student working towards her PhD Anna began her research career in the field of parasitology. Through participation in multiple international research projects, she has significantly contributed to building a capacity for sequencing emerging pathogens (avian influenza, African swine fever, and others) in Ukraine using nanopore sequencing technology on MinION platform. Current projects in which Anna takes part are focused on nanopore (MinION) sequencing for phylogenetics and molecular epidemiology for avian influenza and SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), measles, HIV and Hepatitis C Virus. Her long-term goal is to make a significant contribution to understanding of zoonotic pathogens using genomics and phylogenetics/phylodynamics methods.
