Profile Summary

Environmental scientist with a passion for travel and outdoor activities. My main research and professional interests are trace metal geochemistry, environmental pollution and geochemical proxies for environmental reconstructions, though I maintain a broad interest in environmental issues. In 2024 I got a PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Pisa with a research project focused on reconstructing the history of trace metal pollution in Italy throughout the Holocene, using lake sediment records. During this time, I carried out part of my research at the Sorbonne University (Paris), the University of Cologne and the National Center of Scientific Research Demokritos (Athens). In 2020 I worked as an early-stage researcher at the University of Pisa on a project within the European Horizon 2020 framework: “PHUSICOS – According to Nature,” led by the “Autorità di Bacino Distrettuale dell’Appennino Settentrionale.” In 2019, after completing my MSc in Environmental Sciences, I carried out a postgraduate traineeship as an environmental consultant at Amphos 21, an international company based in Barcelona. There, I contributed to a project addressing environmental concerns related to mercury use in gold mining in Colombia. Throughout these years of research, I have published peer-reviewed scientific articles and engaged in academic mentoring activities.
