Profile Summary

My academic background as a physician (MD) is my foundation for the work as a medical journalist and writer, my main occupation the past ten years. I have always been fascinated by medical science, especially since knowledge has become so conveniently available, and evidence-based data can be obtained the moment it is published through a device everyone has in their pocket. Something, 30 years ago, still considered purest science fiction has become a matter of course. My personal journey as a medical writer leads over one important milestone, being awarded as the best of my class for the “year's work”, a contemporary overview on immunodeficient disorders. A period of orientation brought me then to the decision to study human medicine. I graduated from one of the most prestigious medical faculties in Germany with the licence as a doctor. My work as an assistant coordinator of clinical trials in Berlin, primarily focusing on new treatment options for Multiple Sclerosis, has brought me the Good Clinical Practice certification. The study of human medicine and the clinical training at the Heart Center Leipzig, internationally recognized for the multidisciplinary treatment of cardiovascular diseases, are enabling me to understand medical approaches on a profound level today. However, I have always been missing the creative element in the routine of a clinical practitioner. And eventually, medical writing has become the field where medical science and creativity meet for me. I started doing what I could always do best and enjoy most. I am offering support for projects with academic, educational or commercial purposes. In addition, there are also translations (English, German).
