Profile Summary

I am a qualitative PhD researcher at the University of Cape Town, sustainability specialist, and research ethics expert with a focus on food systems, indigenous knowledge, and community engagement. My work explores pathways to decolonise research methodologies, grounded in relational and ethically engaged approaches. I work as a scholar-activist and have experience in fundraising, particularly in contexts related to food sovereignty, biodiversity, and regenerative initiatives. As part of my PhD, I collaborate with remote communities in South Africa to explore more just and sustainable food systems, alongside community-led documentation of indigenous knowledge. This involves co-design and participatory methods that centre community perspectives and support ethical knowledge co-production. Beyond academia, I work as a content creator and research communicator, supporting organisations in translating complex sustainability topics into clear, compelling narratives. My expertise includes sustainability reporting under European standards (previous for 12Tree GmbH), reviewing and improving academic transcripts, research and fundraising proposals, and the development of reports, articles, and storytelling-based communications.
