Profile Summary

I’m a public health physician with over two decades of experience strengthening health systems and leading large-scale programs in reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH), infectious diseases, and non-communicable diseases across Sub-Saharan Africa. I bring deep expertise in curriculum development, capacity building, and provider behavior change, designing and institutionalizing training programs that drive measurable improvements in service delivery and patient outcomes. At Resolve to Save Lives, I provided regional technical leadership for hypertension control, supporting ministries of health in Nigeria, Uganda, and Ethiopia to scale WHO HEARTS strategies, improve medicine access, and strengthen primary healthcare systems. Previously, I led national SBC initiatives for malaria and RMNCH at Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs’ USAID/Breakthrough ACTION-Nigeria, co-developing and leading the scale-up of Nigeria’s first Provider Behavior Change Strategy and designing national training curricula and QA tools to improve quality and patient-centred care. At the Clinton Health Access Initiative, I spearheaded the state-wide scale-up of zinc/ORS for childhood diarrhea, contributing to national policy changes. Earlier in my career, I led RMNCH services at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, bridging tertiary care with PHC and community systems. I also bring operational acumen from my service as a Nigerian Navy officer. I hold an MPH from the University of Liverpool, a medical degree from the University of Nigeria, and Fellowship of the West African College of Physicians (Community Health).
